The Collaborations: A Fusion of Art and Fashion
Jim Thompson launched its Artists in Residence campaign with the Jim Thompson X Pichaya Osothcharoenpol Collection, which celebrated Chinese New Year. Inspired by traditional Chinese cultural elements, renowned artist, designer, and illustrator Pichaya celebrated the Year of the Rabbit with symbols of peace, patience, and prudence. Her contemporary digital painting techniques infused the collection with a vibrant palette of colours: reds, pinks, blues, greens, and yellows.
In time for Songkran (Thai New Year) was Jim Thompson X Nakrob Moonmanas’ Collection. Renowned Thai collage artist and illustrator, Nakrob Moonmanas, drew inspiration from the antiques and fine arts on display at the Jim Thompson House Museum. His artwork masterfully blended local history and culture, uniting the East and the West. The result was a visually striking and thought-provoking collection with historical iconography interwoven with cosmic and space exploration themes.
The third collaboration – Jim Thompson X Goh M Collection – challenged conventional perceptions of colour, fusing pop art, street art, and graffiti with Jim Thompson’s iconic lifestyle aesthetic. Goh M’s distinctive designs featured vibrant pop art-inspired prints with motifs of flowers, local fruits, plants, and elephants.
